To leadnew product design and development of automotive product by coordinating with industrial designer and manufacturing vendors for prototype development

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Should have ability to lead assigned product development activity as individual contributor for concept development/ detail design and coordination with different functions
• Coordination with industrial designer for developing concept and refinements based on feedback
• Conduct regular design review with international client
• Coordinate with manufacturing vendors (local& International) for prototype development and procurement
• Conducts user/ergonomic studies during the product development process
• Apply Design to Cost and Design for Manufacturability methods for efficient design optimization
• Ensure product design comply for manufacturability, usability, reliability, functionality and marketability
• Support the development of products in line with functional and performance requirements in all aspects of the product design criteria, product function and customer needs
• Supports the organization’s intellectual property strategy by documenting data and independent, unique and patentable ideas that results from experimentations and concept generation activities
• Ability to track all Mechanical Design activities to support and ensure project timelines and quality commitments
• Act as liaison to all project stakeholders, both internal and external for smooth project execution

Experience:

• Should have 8-15years of relevant experience
• Min 5 years’ relevant experience in product design and development with detail understanding of the product development cycle at TRL6 level
• Hands on exposure on 3D model and concept generation on 3D CAD tool (SOLIDWORKS preferred)
• Experience oncoordinationwith international clientsto conduct design reviews and report status
• Experience on coordination with manufacturing vendors and procurement for prototype development

Qualification:

B. Tech / M. Tech / Doctorate in Mechanical/ Automobile Engineering from a reputed Institution

• From Design & Development perspective, should have
• Exposure ontechnical Requirements collection and management
• Hands on experience on concept development per industrial design and validate Design Concepts
• Competency for conducting research for design objective and overcome challenges during product development
• Good knowledge on different materials and selection of materials based on functionality
• Good understanding on electrical integration in product for lighting connectivity and battery management system
• Sound knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis
• Good understanding of advanced manufacturing approaches
• Experience on implementation of DFMA /PFMEA principles
• Exposure on prototype development for metallic. 3D printing,composite, plastic parts
• Excellent understanding in end-to-end   product development cycle at TRL6 level
• Understanding the dynamics of moving and rotating masses and analyzing their equilibrium conditions
• Ability to review and evaluate test and functional requirements
• Ability to work closely with FEA team for design validation and optimization for weight and cost
• Proficient in offering technical solutions (especially in the case of innovation/ cost reduction techniques)
• Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS (Part modelling/ Assembly/Sheet metal/Drafting) with hands on 2D &3 D activity
